This article contains information that is updated for the latest Experimental Version of Subnautica. Players using stable mode may find this information inaccurate.

This article is about the Survival Knife. You may be looking for the Hardened Blade or the Thermoblade.

The massacre on Obraxis Prime demonstrated that the prime threat to survival on an alien world is in fact other people. Weapons have since been removed from lifepod fabricators. The survival knife is the only exception.

The Survival Knife is a basic tool crafted by using the Fabricator.

The Survival Knife's main function is to procure samples of certain flora and corals, such as Creepvine Samples and Coral Samples. Though it can be used as a weapon, its damage and range are limited, and there is no real benefit to killing fauna in the first place.

By using the Modification Station, the Survival Knife can be upgraded to the Thermoblade or the Hardened Blade.

If a Bleeder latches onto the player's arm, the player can use the Survival Knife to stab the Bleeder.
