could you please edit the Template:Recipe so it allows more ingredients to be added? At the moment, it doesn't display more than 4 ingredients, even when they have been entered manually via Source Editor (see Seamoth).
I would do it myself, but I sadly don't have any clue how to do it.
Simplicity is key. Are you worried a user is going to go into the source page of a harvesting node, see "Infobox item" and say, "Omg, I can't read this. The template name doesn't make sense!" Less templates = less upkeep, especially when the data is so basic.
Do you want the "Storage" field to be part of "Type", or it's own field? If it's part of "Type", I could also add "Storage slots" as a field.
What matters is what the users see. If the data can be shown accurately in Template:MagicBeans, then it works.
All that would need to be added is "Drops" as a new field and "Harvesting Node" as the type. "Biomes" would cover locations.
Less templates means that if we want to change something about a template, that change doesn't need to be applied to all the different templates we have.
If you'd like to make Template:Infobox Node, you're more than welcome. But as it stands, I don't see any logic to it. In fact, there are more disadvantages than advantages in my mind to having a whole new template just for one thing when an infobox already exists that can handle it. "Think smarter, not harder."
I find the new table for the Fauna strange, you can't edit it so that multiple things can go in one slot. Many of the creatures live in more biome than one and with table you can't put any more than one biome. Also, the old table was a lot easier to edit, I dont see why this change was necessary.
The potential benefits far outweigh a manually-edited table - automation, mostly - but it needs to be set up correctly first. It has a few kinks I need to work out. I'll see if I can fix the things you mention. If I can't, I'll revert it back.
Hi, you seem to understand these wiki's a bit more than me... do you know how to edit a table like the one on the Equipment page? I can edit the items in it no problem... but i can't change the dimensions or add another row. I was able to go into classic mode and change it. But, it didn't change it once I published it.
I'm tempted to make an omniscient "Items" template that contains every equipment, resource, food, and essentially everything that is capable of being placed in the inventory. It can be made to automagically create its own templates based on data within the cells.
For example, in a row containing "Titanium Ingot", an Acquired By or Location column with "Crafted" would be clickable to allow players to browse all crafted items.
The template link I posted above is an example, it's just not finished yet.
